The Rappahannock Area YMCA Association is a charitable, non-profit organization serving the city of Fredericksburg as well as the surrounding counties of Stafford and Spotsylvania. Through our two branches, the YMCA positively impacts the lives of more than 23,000 people of all ages, races, religions, and economic backgrounds. In 2008 the association will expand by opening a new facility
in King George County, followed by openings in Caroline County and North Stafford. For more than 30 years, the Rappahannock Area YMCA has provided safe and caring environments, positive role models, creative activities, and opportunities to serve the needs of others. These are the essential building blocks for strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.

The Rappahannock Area YMCA is dedicated to improving the quality of human life and to helping all people realize their fullest potential through the development of spirit, mind, and body. We achieve this goal by providing quality fitness and recreation programs in an atmosphere of fellowship and caring.

Throughout its more than 30 year history, the Rappahannock Area YMCA has been the leader in youth development, implementing a wide variety of programs designed to improve the quality of life, promote the development of leadership skills, and provide volunteer and community service opportunities.
